N-act for parents

Many parents will recognise the disturbing encroachment on family life of non-stop internet access and general social pressures which, sadly today, most teenagers and children now consider normal.

Affecting most households, young adults seem oblivious to the potential dangers and problems until they occur. With children and teenagers spending increasing amounts of time on a variety of social media platforms it is wise for parents to not only get ‘clued- up’ to the positives and negatives that this brings but importantly how to deal with the wider social issues such as gangs, knives and drugs when they arise and vitally how to keep their children safe in the future.

We have worked closely with a number of schools in the area to inform and support parents on such topics enabling them to identify and subsequently confidently deal with them.

N-Act offers the following workshops for parents in partnership with schools and associations:

All programmes start with the performance of Invisible. This provides the discussion topics for the first part of the training. This event is 2 hours.

·         Mental health awareness

·         Keep your child mentally healthy

·         Reduce the stigma of mental health

·         How to deal with anxiety in children

·         How to start the conversation

·         Active listening

‘Absolutely brilliant. Thank you! This echoes what we are delivering in our parenting programme – make time and listen.’ (Children’s Centre Manager having watched ‘Invisible’)

staff training in schools

With our excellent reputation for providing theatre workshops for primary and secondary schools, and Sharon’s expertise in educational management, N-Act are the ideal touring theatre company to work with to introduce the benefits of professional development for teachers as part of your on-going training.

Mental Health courses are increasingly requested by schools and colleges and we offer a variety of options for general mental health in school training. Importantly we also help head teachers ensure the safety of their staff with workshops designed to help identify specific teacher mental health issues.

N-act in the workplace

Human resources managers and business owners are increasingly acknowledging the benefits of looking after their employee’s mental wellbeing. According to the HSE government website over 15 million working days were lost in 2017 / 2018 to stress, depression or anxiety and this has a huge economic significance to profitability and viability. Incorporating strategies to pre-empt this into their wider long term planning, many businesses are prioritising improving training and awareness to combat this problem.

Utilising our dedicated consultancy services, or onsite workshops, will enable managers to adapt company policies and implement changes that will help to educate everyone but also identify those who may need additional support as a matter of urgency.

Workshops include:

  • Mental health training in the workplace
  • Mental health training for professionals
  • Corporate mental health workplace training courses
  • Mental health awareness
